An employee of an Erie pizzeria was robbed of food and personal items at gunpoint on Wednesday night in the second armed robbery of a delivery driver in one part of the city in as many days, according to Erie police.

The robbery was reported on Wednesday at about 8:50 p.m. in the 600 block of West Fifth Street.

A delivery driver for Papa John's Pizza was delivering a food order when he was approached by four suspects. One of the suspects pulled out a black handgun, a second suspect went through the driver's pockets and took the driver's keys and wallet, and a third suspect took the food order before the suspects ran off, Lt. Mike Wolf said Thursday.

The driver was not injured in the robbery. Police had no suspects as of Thursday morning.

The robbery occurred near where a delivery driver for Alfee's Pizza & Sub Shop was robbed while making a delivery on Tuesday night in the 600 block of Poplar Street.

Investigators said the driver was confronted by one male who lunged at the driver and tried to take the food order before a second male appeared, pointed a gun at the driver and robbed him of money and food.

The suspects also demanded the driver's cell phone during the robbery, according to police.
