Dover woman found injured on I-275 Christmas morning

A 29-year-old Dover woman is in critical condition after being found laying on the shoulder of I-275 early Christmas morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Florida Department of Transportation employee found the woman just after 7 a.m. on the northbound side of the interstate, south of Dale Mabry Highway.

Authorities have not identified the cause of the woman’s injuries, but said she sustained a significant head injury and has road rash all over her body. She remained hospitalized as of Monday afternoon, according to Highway Patrol spokesperson Sgt. Steve Gaskins.

Gaskins did not identify the woman.

Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the incident and seek help from the public. Those with information are encouraged to call *FHP (*374) or contact Crime Stoppers at **TIPS (**8477).
