D'backs P Greinke (ab strain) will make scheduled start

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Zack Greinke won't miss his turn in the rotation after leaving his last start with an abdominal strain.

"Zack's bullpen went very good," Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Saturday. "He's going to start for us on Tuesday."

That next start will be at San Diego, where the veteran turned around his season after a rough Opening Day start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, when he gave up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings. Greinke, 35, earned the victory against the Padres on April 2 and has gone 6-0 in his last nine starts with a 1.92 ERA.

No problems showed up on an MRI exam on Friday, and he felt fine after Saturday's bullpen session.

Greinke went 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the Pirates on Wednesday, forced out of that game with two outs in the eighth inning in the middle of an at-bat. He has not allowed a run in his past three starts, improving to 6-1 with a 2.78 ERA on the season.

The Cy Young Award winner and five-time All-Star is 193-119 lifetime with a 3.37 ERA and has recorded double-digit victories in 11 seasons. He is 51-26 in four seasons with the Diamondbacks, posting a 3.45 ERA.
