Sir Bruce Forsyth tributes pour in from stars
Legendary entertainer and TV host Sir Bruce Forsyth has sadly died aged 89.
The television legend hosted such hits as The Price Is Right, Play Your Cards Right and The Generation Game, while in later years he hosted Strictly Come Dancing.
Bruce had been unwell for a long time, having previously suffered a stroke and been hospitalised with a chest infection earlier this year.
BBC Director-General Tony Hall remembered the telly legend in a statement on Friday (August 18): "Sir Bruce was one of the greatest entertainers our country has ever known.
"He has delighted millions of people and defined Saturday night television for decades, with shows like the Generation Game and, most recently, Strictly. His warmth and his wit were legendary.
"I've never seen anyone quite like him when it comes to performing in front of a crowd. He had a remarkable chemistry with his audience, that's what made him such an amazing professional and why he was so loved. He has been part of all of our lives, and we'll miss him dearly."
Now as the nation mourns a television legend, many have taken to social media to mourn the loss of Brucie.
