'Significant' snow event expected later this week on Delmarva
Winter weather will be making another appearance in the region thanks to a system moving into the Mid-Atlantic later this week.
According to the Wakefield, Virginia, office of the National Weather Service, a hazardous weather outlook advisory is issued for this weekend and into early next week.

"Low pressure tracking northeast off the eastern seaboard will result in rain changing to snow Friday evening, with significant snow accumulation possible Friday night and Saturday morning. Breezy to windy conditions could also result in blowing and drifting snow," the report warns.
For Friday night in Salisbury and areas north, rain and snow, becoming all snow after 8 p.m. is expected. The snow could be heavy at times with low temperatures around 25 degrees. North wind 6-11 mph increasing to 12-17 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph.
The chance of precipitation is 90%.

That continues into Saturday with snow likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Conditions will be cloudy, with a high near 26 degrees. Blustery weather will come with a chance of precipitation of 70%.
A snowstorm's track is hard to predict and often changes. As of about 4 p.m. Wednesday, National Weather Service tweeted that "confidence was growing" in a coastal storm bring accumulation of snow Friday into Saturday. A map with total accumulation predictions was attached, showing the Eastern Shore in the 6-12 inch zone. Salisbury to Ocean City would be in the 8-12 inch area, and much of the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the 6-8 inch area.

Earlier in the day, the weather service had been called for 3-5 inches.
Accuweather, on Wednesday, was calling for 6-10 inches total for the Salisbury area going into the weekend.
