Move aside, Colin Jost. A 214-year-old clam is now (sort of) the star of the Weekend Update.

"Aber-clam Lincoln," the Quahog clam discovered at Alligator Point that is believed to be born the same year as President Abraham Lincoln, was featured briefly during the March 4 episode Saturday Night Live.

In the Weekend Update segment, co-hosted by Jost and Michael Che, the clam was the subject of a joke related to the death of the man it was named after.

"The clam credits his longevity to staying away from the theater," Che said.

"Aber-clam" rose to fame after the Tallahassee Democrat's story on the mollusk's discovery by AmeriCorps member Blaine Parker, who works with the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab in Panacea. He was found the Saturday of Presidents Day weekend and was dated by counting the rings on his shell.
