Wednesday fire destroys pickup in alley behind Watertown City Hall

Things got heated around City Hall in downtown Watertown Wednesday, but it wasn't any controversial topic.

Instead, a pickup was destroyed by a considerable fire. Watertown Fire Rescue was called about 3:45 p.m. to a vehicle fire in the alley behind City Hall. Upon arrival, crews found the pickup was fully engulfed, according to a news release from Watertown Fire Rescue.

The driver got out of the vehicle and was uninjured. Crews were able to douse the flames within a few minutes of arrival, according to the release.

It was determined the fire started in the cab and was accidental, per the release. Watertown Fire Rescue was on the scene for about 30 minutes.
