David Lee Biography
An anchor at the middle blocker position, Lee will make his second Olympic appearance after helping the U.S. win gold in Beijing in 2008. The Alpine, Calif., native had an outstanding performance at the NORCECA Men’s Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament in May to help the U.S. clinch a spot in London, finishing as the event's Best Blocker and totaling 43 points with an 81.1 kill percentage. He had a strong showing in the final round of the World League, finishing with 28 points and eight stuffs as the U.S. placed second. Lee enjoyed a solid 2011 campaign for the U.S. national team, finishing with a team-best 82 blocks in 104 overall sets and ranking fourth in scoring with 230 points. Lee also was a member of the 2008 squad that won the FIVB World League title and the 2007 NORCECA championship. At the club level this year, Lee helped Dynamo Moscow - his third Russian team in as many seasons - win the CEV Men’s Cup. He's also played for French side Rennes Volley, Turkish club Halkbank Arena and Italian squad Pallavolo Modena since starting his European career in 2005. Lee is one of three Long Beach State alums on the team along with Paul Lotman and David McKienzie.
