The Ottawa Senators and restricted free agent defenseman Cody Ceci have agreed to a two-year contract worth $5.6 million. The 22-year-old Ceci established career highs last season with 10 goals and 26 points along with a plus-9 rating in 19:18 of play. The Senators used the 15th overall pick in the 2012 draft on the 6-foot-3, 205-pound Ceci.
The Minnesota Wild asked, and the fans responded. Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” will be the new goal song for the Wild beginning with their Sept. 27 preseason game against the Colorado Avalanche. This summer, the Wild sent an email to season ticket holders asking for their feedback about the potential change from Joe Satriani’s “Crowd Chant” to the classic Prince track.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a new assistant general manager though, in reality, it’s the same assistant general manager they’ve had all along. From the club: The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today the club has named Mark Hunter as Assistant General Manager. Hunter, who first joined the Leafs as Director of Player Personnel in October 2014, will share the role along with current Assistant General Manager Kyle Dubas. “Mark’s new title is essentially a formality as these are duties he’s already been performing,” said Maple Leafs General Manager Lou Lamoriello. “Brendan and I have been discussing this change of title since last season – as it’s a more appropriate recognition of Mark’s role with
