Flames stay where they are, will draft ninth overall in 2024 NHL Draft

Luck was not on the Calgary Flames' side. The Flames will be drafting ninth overall in the 2024 NHL Draft next month and will have an opportunity to add one of the game's elite prospects. In the end, though, the San Jose Sharks will step to the podium first at the draft on June 28 and will have the chance to take Boston University centre Macklin Celebrini. The Flames have drafted ninth overall twice in their history, taking Dion Phaneuf in 2003 and Brent Krahn in 2000.
