Fast expected to miss playoffs for Hurricanes because of neck strain: report

Jesper Fast is not expected play for the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, coach Rod Brind'Amour told Bally Sports South on Thursday. The forward has been dealing with a neck strain sustained in the final game of the regular season, a 6-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 16. Brind'Amour broke the news prior to Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the New York Islanders at UBS Arena.
