The NHL free-agency window opens at noon Friday and the Pittsburgh Penguins are hoping Jaromir Jagr will tell them that he's returning to the team.
Jagr's agent, former NHL player Petr Svoboda, said Thursday that his player's "heart is in Pittsburgh," the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. But it remains to be seen if that is enough for him to accept the team's offer of one year and about $2 million that was made Tuesday.
"Petr said we're very much in the mix," Penguins general manager Ray Shero said, the Tribune-Review reports.
Jagr has spent the last three seasons playing in the Kontinental Hockey League.
