Scrivens' postseason work in the AHL playoffs has impressed Leafs' executives to the point where the young man could battle James Reimer for the backup job next season, according to Sportsnet590 The FAN.
Recommendation: Assistant general manager Dave Nonis was on the station Friday morning and he said Scrivens has "performed at a higher level than we anticipated at this point in his career." Nonis then admitted that James Reimer and Scrivens would likely compete for a single spot on the roster next season. Scrivens' stock is clearly on the rise; keeper leaguers take note. He's now one game from the Calder Cup championship and sports a 10-2 record with three shutouts, 1.66 GAA and .942 save percentage.
