While it didn't feature a return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Kraken kept it interesting well into the second half thanks to a franchise-record, nine-game win streak. The Kraken kept their playoff hopes alive into March by sweeping a back-to-back swing through Western Canada. Tomas Tatar countered with a response goal and fellow winger Andre Burakovsky scored his first goal in just over two months, with 2:39 left in regulation, on the power play. Defenseman Justin Schultz, who had been benched off and on in favor of getting prospect Ryker Evans more ice time, scored in overtime to send the Kraken into 2024 on a high note.
It's great to see Wright playing confidently, but we'll know better next season just where he's at and how quickly he'll help this team get back to the playoffs that eluded them this time. Good to meet you.
Oliver Bjorkstrand scored his 20th goal of the season and added an assist as the Seattle Kraken beat the San Jose Sharks 4-2 on Monday night. Jared McCann, Matty Beniers and Shane Wright also scored for Seattle, and Jordan Eberle had an assist for his 700th NHL point.
