C Brooks Laich could get an even bigger role this season. The last two years have been kind of breakout seasons for Laich, who's becoming a more solid player and is one of the few Caps who knows how to get in front of the goal and stay there. Laich showed how strong he was on offense (seven points in 14 playoff games), and the Caps will need him to become more of a playmaker at times, especially with the loss of Sergei Fedorov.
