Corvo (calf) was activated from the injured reserve list prior to Wednesday's game against the Flames, NHL.com reports.
Recommendation: He'll take over the roster spot of Tuomo Ruutu after a 28-game absence. Give him a look if you're in need of blue-help, as Corvo had 12 points in 27 games prior to going down with the injury.

D Joe Corvo returned after a 28-game absence because of a leg laceration and was on the ice for more than 23 1/2 minutes. He hadn't played since Nov. 30 against Washington. Some teams interested in trading with the Hurricanes might be eager to see at what level Corvo is playing.
