G Roberto Luongo had a say in his surprising game off Thursday in Ottawa, confirming to the coaches what his play over the previous 10 games seemed to indicate: that he needed a break -- mentally, not physically. It seemed to work. Luongo, who had started 26 games straight but been pulled from two and posted some poor numbers in the last 10 before sitting out, had a long practice with Clark in Boston Friday. He then made 41 saves -- and three more in the shootout -- in a 3-2 comeback victory, single-handidly stealing the game. |

Luongo enjoyed a stellar afternoon in Boston, saving 39 of 41 shots in regulation and overtime and then shutting the Bruins down completely in the shootout to lead the Canucks past Boston, 3-2. Recommendation: If he really needed to right a listing ship, this outing will do that. He'll get two days off before the Canucks resume their extended road trip on Tuesday in Tampa Bay; you should definitely have him active for that one. |
