After rehabbing from right shoulder surgery for the first 7 1/2 weeks of the season, Hossa made an immediate impact in his season debut, scoring twice to help Chicago to a 7-2 victory over San Jose, the team's eighth in a row and fourth on a six-game road trip. Advice: "I didn't expect to click right away like that," said Hossa, who signed a 12-year, $62.8 million contract with Chicago in July after leading Detroit with 40 goals last season. The Blackhawks visit Anaheim on Friday, and the four-time All-Star had a goal and two assists in four games against the Ducks last season with the Red Wings. |

RW Marian Hossa, in his Hawks' debut after four months of recuperation from shoulder surgery, scored two goals on four shots and played more than 16 minutes against San Jose. With Hossa on a line with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, the Hawks could have one of the most potent top lines in the league. |

Hossa (shoulder) potted a pair of goals in his debut with the Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Recommendation: His first goal was a short-handed tally from Jonathan Toews and the second was an even-strength goal during the third period. Hossa is going to see time on the top power-play unit as well as the penalty-kill unit; while he spent most of Wednesday's game skating on a line with Toews and Patrick Kane. If there wasn't already enough talent in Chicago to make Red Wings fans nervous, Hossa may be enough to put the Blackhawks over the edge as favorites in the Western Conference. |
