Matt Cooke had a history of plays during his NHL career that had him labeled as a goon. Between his blindside hit on then-Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard, his high elbow to Ryan McDonagh and cutting Erik Karlsson's Achilles with his skate, people began to question exactly what kind of player he was. Cooke received a slew of criticism from NHL fans, media and opposing teams. Looking back on his career, Cooke — now coach of the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers — wishes he could take back one thing: The March 7, 2010 hit on Savard.
