Gonchar (wrist) will have his cast removed when the Pens come home from their current road trip, which ends Tuesday night in Boston, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Recommendation: Once the cast is removed, Gonchar will have an X-ray taken on his broken left wrist. "If everything is fine there, we're going to start thinking about doing more in practice, maybe shooting more," Gonchar said. It looks as though Gonchar could be back in time for Week 7 if everything goes well with his recovery. |

D Sergei Gonchar can't get back soon enough for the Penguins, who are 3-for-29 on the power play in six games since Gonchar sustained a broken left wrist. Gonchar is expected to miss another three weeks, at least. |
