49ers Brandon Aiyuk sends text to John Lynch, Kyle Shanahan after former college teammate pick
The 2024 NFL Draft got off to an exciting start. Thankfully the San Francisco 49ers were still able to get their guy in the first round, selecting Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with the 31st overall pick. Brandon Aiyuk made sure that 49ers brass knew that he was a fan of the pick. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk texted general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan moments after the pick.

Expert Commentary
Huh? This pick seems a bit out of nowhere, especially considering no one really had Pearsall going at this point in the draft. Perhaps this is the 49ers bracing for a move at wide receiver, but Pearsall could have been had later than this.
