Chargers News: LA Counting on 2023 All-Rookie Teamer to Take Leap in Year 2
After being selected out of USC with the No. 54 pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 6-foot-3 Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Tuli Tuipulotu enjoyed a terrific debut as one of the few things that went right in a 5-12 disaster of a season for the Bolts. The 2022 unanimous All-American and Morris Trophy winner made the PFWA All-Rookie Team with the Chargers, leading all rookie edge rushers with 29 run stops. "He proved to be a starter-level all-around edge rusher, showing the power and motor to affect the game as a pass rusher and run defender," Popper said.

It's not the sexy pick, but it's a pick thats going to make the Chargers better immediately and in the long term. Even though they needed wide receiver help, they also needed help at tackle and got a 10-year, Pro Bowl level starter in Joe Alt.

Expert Commentary
The Chargers desperately needed a wide receiver and traded up to get the speedy playmaker from Georgia. He was a force for the Dawgs from Day 1 and a fantastic route runner for an offense that featured several NFL players. It’s an unproven wide receiver room for the Chargers, but McConkey and Quentin Johnston have some promise at least.

The Chargers really needed a linebacker in the draft and Jim Harbaugh went back to Michigan to find one. Colson is one of the better linebacker prospects in the draft and his athleticism should help him make plays early for the Chargers.
