  • Jackson Powers-Johnson pays homage to Raiders history in video reaction

The Las Vegas Raiders made a much-needed addition to their offensive line on Friday night when they selected Oregon interior lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson in the second round (No. 44 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. Powers-Johnson was billed as a center coming out of college, but the Raiders intend on having him play guard, something the team made abundantly clear after announcing the Oregon product as one. Also, Las Vegas made sure to reach out to center Andre James to make sure he knew that was indeed the plan, which was a great gesture by the team. Shortly after being drafted, Powers-Johnson put out a video thanking Raider nation, and in it he cited a line from the poem "The Autumn Wind", written by late NFL Films President and co-founder Steve Sabol about the 1974 Oakland Raiders.
