Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie Named 'Dark-Horse' DPOY Candidate
The Kansas City Chiefs have a star-studded roster at the top, although the offensive side of the ball gets a good chunk of the attention. It's hard to blame anyone for gravitating toward quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, but they have some impressive teammates as well. Cornerback Trent McDuffie, just 23 years old and just two seasons into his career, is one of them. With the 2024 NFL Draft in the books, the month of May is a time for many to reflect or look ahead to the upcoming campaign.

Expert Commentary
The Chiefs add some speed to their wide receiver room and some playmaking for Patrick Mahomes. This does feel a tad redundant with Marquise Brown on the roster, but that's only a one-year deal. Mahomes solves all problems, and having Rashee Rice on the roster is a nice changeup from the Brown and Worthy combo, but a 165-pound player in the first round is a bit of a tough sell.

Expert Commentary
One plus is not enough here — this is a potentially franchise-altering pick for the Chiefs here at the bottom of the second round. Suamataia is a bit raw, but he has legitimate franchise left tackle athleticism and movement ability. Throw him out there and let him grow into an elite tackle.
