QB Derek Anderson has numbers that are historically bad. Anderson's completion percentage is 42.9; the league average is 60 percent. His passer rating is 36.2 STATS, Inc., reports that rating is the lowest for an NFL quarterback through eight week since Marc Wilson had a 29.2 rating in 1981.

Anderson completed just 6 of 17 passes for 76 yards and got intercepted twice in a 30-6 loss at Chicago on Sunday.
Advice: This is the second time this season that Anderson has had a game with a passer rating under 20, and he was lifted with three minutes left in the game for Brady Quinn, the man he replaced in Week 3. Whether or not he retains the starting job, Anderson is having a disastrous season.

Anderson, yet again, played poorly in Sunday's loss to the Bears, completing just 6-of-17 passes for 76 yards and two picks. He did have a rushing touchdown, his second of the season.
Recommendation: Brady Quinn relieved him in the fourth quarter, opening up the possibility head coach Eric Mangini could reopen the quarterback competition.
