The Associated Press is reporting that Orton (ankle) has torn ligaments in his ankle, but remains optimistic to play in Sunday's game against San Diego, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
Recommendation: Orton's injury is different than the ankle injury he suffered last season and he says the two are completely unrelated. The ankle has apparently improved over the course of the week, which is why Orton thinks he will be able to go on Sunday. While he certainly is not practicing fully, the team is leaving the door wide open for him to start against the Chargers.
