FILE - This July 28, 2011 file photo shows New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma answering questions during a news conference at the NFL football team's training facility in Metairie, La. With suspensions already handed out and lawsuits filed in the New Orleans Saints' bounty program case, NFL owners will meet in Atlanta on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Player safety will be a major issue at this meeting, where Commissioner Roger Goodell is certain to be asked about Jonathan Vilma's defamation lawsuit against him. Goodell's authority for administering discipline is being challenged by the players' union, Vilma and three other players suspended for their roles in the bounty system.

FILE - In this Oct. 30, 2011, file photo, New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma watches from the sideline during an NFL football game against St. Louis Rams in St. Louis. An email from an imprisoned friend of the Saints coaching staff with a postscript saying, "put me down for $5,000" on Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, has become another sore point between players being punished for New Orleans' bounty system and the NFL. Ornstein says now that was written in total jest. When shown Ornstein's note in its entirety, an attorney for the supsended Vilma echoed his criticism from earlier this week that the NFL is manipulating evidence to strengthen a weak case.
