Winslow "should be a big factor on third downs and in the red zone" this season, coach Pete Carroll told the Seattle Times after Thursday's OTA practice.
Recommendation: "We added a guy that we know can make things happen," Carroll said. Perhaps this means the Seahawks will start targeting the tight end in the passing game, but Carroll said similar (nearly word-for-word) things last season about Zach Miller and the year before that about John Carlson. Yet, Miller had 44 targets (six red zone) last year and Carlson 58 (eight red zone) in 2010. Watch the exhibition games carefully to see whether the Seahawks actually target Winslow, who also will be limited throughout the year in practice to manage a chronic knee injury.

Winslow says he been told that he no longer fits in Tampa Bay's plans for next season.
Advice: The ninth-year pro told SiriusXM radio on Monday that first-year coach Greg Schiano was ``kind of upset'' that Winslow has not been working out with the team this offseason and told the player over the weekend that he will facilitate a trade to another club.
