Recommendation: Winslow will have a chance to earn playing time as part of a lousy tight end group, but expectations shouldn't be high at this stage of his career. While it sounds like his troublesome knees are doing better lately, there's no guarantee that they will hold up. Winslow appeared in just one game with the Patriots last season and caught one pass for 12 yards. He did catch 75 passes in 2011 with Tampa Bay, so his upside is arguably the highest among Jets tight ends.
Advice: Winslow was brought in on a tryout basis and impressed coach Rex Ryan, who said Thursday that the former Pro Bowl tight end's ``athleticism and his ability to catch the football, it certainly jumps out.''
