Brown was named the NFC's special teams player of the week Wednesday after a game that saw him kick a 41-yard field goal but also throw a 36-yard touchdown pass to tight end Daniel Fells. Advice: It was more of a flip on a fake field goal attempt that helped the Rams end a 17-game losing streak with a 17-10 victory over Detroit. Brown, who was a running back playing eight-man football at Foyil (Okla.) High School, said he considered trying to run for a first down. Instead, he sort of shot-putted the ball to Fells, who broke one tackle en route to the end zone. |

Brown made a 41 yard field goal, two extra points, and threw the first touchdown of his career on a fake field goal late in the first half of the Rams' Week 8 win over Detroit on Sunday. Recommendation: Brown has kicked well since struggling through the first four games of the year. He's now made his last six field goal attempts, three of which have been from 40+. |
