WR Isaac Bruce said he does not have much desire to serve as a mentor to his younger teammates. Bruce forfeited a potential $25,000 workout bonus this offseason when he remained home to work out on his own. He was around his teammates only during its mandatory minicamp.
Bruce said he gained all he needed as a youngster from watching teammate Flipper Anderson with the Los Angeles Rams.
"If I was interested in being a good receiver in the NFL, I think he was a good guy that I could watch," Bruce said. "I didn't really have to talk to him. I could just watch what he did and just do the same things that he did and get the same results. So, if I'm a mentor, I'll be that. If I'm not, I'm not." |
