Favre has told the Green Bay Packers he plans to report to training camp this weekend, according to an NFL Network report Friday - a move perhaps designed to force the team to quickly work out a trade for the three-time MVP.
Advice: According to the report, Favre told Packers general manager Ted Thompson on Thursday that he plans to report to camp and will formally petition NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to be reinstated as early as Friday.

QB Brett Favre's future remains uncertain as the Packers explore trade opportunities. At a shareholder's meeting Thursday, CEO Mark Murphy said the team wants "to be fair to Brett, but we also must act in the best interest of the Packers." GM Ted Thompson said the team won't release Favre, as the quarterback has requested. Commishioner Roger Goodell will reinstate Favre should he petition to be put back on the active list. Thompson said again Thursday that if Favre returned to the Packers, it would "be in a different role."
