Vin Scully To Miss Dodgers Postseason After Medical Procedure
How about that? Vin Scully, who has been calling Dodgers games since the Truman administration, will miss the team’s playoff run as he recovers from a medical procedure. The team announced the unwelcome news on Twitter:
Vin Scully underwent a recommended medical procedure this morning and is resting comfortably. (1/3)

On the advice of his doctors, Scully will miss the Dodgers’ postseason games to rest up but is looking forward to returning in 2016. (2/3)

The team did not give details about Scully’s procedure.
The Baseball Hall of Famer said in August that he will return to the Dodgers booth for a 67th season next year, the longest tenure of any sports announcer with one team, but not having him calling the playoff games is the equivalent of a silver sombrero for fans. As Scully famously — and often — was quoted on Jim Healy’s old L.A. radio program, “I can’t believe it.”
