‘Deadpool’ Super Bowl Trailer: Snark And Bloodshed

With the film hitting theaters this Friday, of course the aggressive marketing for Fox’s R-rated, super hero action comedy Deadpool wasn’t going to slow down. Appropriately, the final trailer for the hyper violent pic pairs well with another franchise known for insane levels of violence and mayhem – I mean professional football of course – and so it is that it aired just now during Super Bowl 50. Watch it here.

Based on the Marvel character, Deadpool tells the “origin story” of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and horribly disfigured, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Hitting Theaters February 12, Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller from a script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Reynolds (who also co-produces) stars as the Merc with the mouth, along with Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, T. J. Miller as Deadpool’s BFF Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Stefan Kapičić as Colossus.
