Colts rookies find out their numbers
One of the best parts about being drafted in the NFL is knowing that one of your life-long dreams has just come true. Another part is finally holding up that authentic NFL jersey that has your name on the back with your number. And that has finally happened for the Colts rookie class, as they found out their numbers this afternoon.
Ryan Kelly (1st round pick) center, Alabama – # 78
T.J. Green (2nd round pick) safety, Clemson – # 32
Le’Raven Clark (3rd round pick) offensive lineman, Texas Tech – # 79
Hassan Ridgeway (4th round pick) defensive lineman, Texas – # 91
Antonio Morrison (4th round pick) linebacker, Florida – # 44
Joe Haeg (5th round pick) offensive lineman, North Dakota State – # 73
Trevor Bates (7th round pick) linebacker, Maine – # 50
Austin Blythe (7th round pick) center, Iowa – # 63
Interesting note, Kelly will wear number 78, the same number for Pro Bowl left tackle Tarik Glenn wore during his entire career here in Indianapolis. Hopefully Kelly can have that type of long-term success.
Also, linebacker Anotonio Morrison will sport the same number as Dallas Clark. However that number will be seen on defense this time and not catching touchdowns from Peyton Manning.
Hopefully this rookie class will be the best one since 2012, when the Colts found five players who made major impacts in their rookie seasons (Luck, Dwanye Allen, Coby Fleener, T.Y. Hilton and Vick Ballard). Good luck to all of them, and I am sure we will be seeing a few Kelly jerseys around Indianapolis here soon.
