Chiefs place K Cairo Santos on IR, sign replacement
The Chiefs’ plan to win the AFC West hit a speed bump Tuesday as kicker Cairo Santos was place on injured reserve with a groin injury.
Harrison Butker, a seventh-round pick in the 2017 draft by the Panthers, was signed from Carolina’s practice squad to replace Santos.

Santos dealt with the same groin injury in the preseason and missed three games, but he played in all three regular-season games and didn’t miss an extra point or field goal as the Chiefs surged to 3-0.
