Cameron Ireland sets Montana state record for 3-pointers in a game

When it comes to setting state records, experience isn't everything.

Take Cameron Ireland, for example.

He finished his night with a 12-for-22 line from beyond the arc and finished with 42 points. The 3-pointers were confirmed as a Montana High School Association record.

"It just kind of happened. I knew I was shooting well. I didn't know how many I had shot. But yeah, it just kind of evolved from our offense. After I made a couple I knew it was going to be a good night," Ireland told the TV station.

"In the six weeks prior to the season he shot probably 10,000 shots coming in on his own, putting in extra time shooting. So for me I love the validation of the work. I don't think he's going to hit 12 very often, if ever again. But I do think he's going to have a lot more good shooting nights ahead," coach Aaron Hill was quoted as saying.
