Well, prior to the listings coming out yesterday, former Pittsburgh Steelers star cornerback and NFL.com journalist Ike Taylor didn’t overlook what rising star Brandin Cooks did for the Saints in 2015, putting him at number 99 overall.

In just his second season in the NFL, Cooks already proved he’s on the verge of being an elite wide receiver, catching 84 passes for 1,138 yards and nine touchdowns, easily replacing the shoes of Marques Colston, Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham.

Cooks had more yards than Emmanuel Sanders, Greg Olsen, T.Y. Hilton, Allen Hurns, Eric Decker and other star players, further showing just how underrated he was on a Saints team that underachieved at 7-9.

It was a nice bounce-back season for Cooks, who had just 53 catches for 550 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season. Once Stills and Graham were traded, however, Cooks immediately stepped in and became Drew Brees’ favorite wide receiver.

Though his production in 2016 will largely hinge on how well the 37-year-old Brees can play at a high level, it’s safe to assume Cooks is on his way to being a top-10 wide receiver in the NFL, and it will stay that way for years to come.
