With the start of the college football season approaching—and plenty of media news about the sport this offseason—I asked four of our college football writers (Gabriel Baumgaertner, Joan Niesen, Lindsay Schnell, and Andy Staples) to participate in a roundtable on a number media-related topics. Mississippi State defensive lineman Nick James was reportedly arrested early Sunday morning. According to the Starkville Daily News, James was arrested for public intoxication at Rick’s Cafe, a bar near MSU’s campus in Starkville. The arrest occurred at 1:36 a.m., the Daily News is reporting, and James was subsequently released on bond.
