German teen turns himself in over attack on European election candidate
The 17-year-old, accompanied by a parent, turned himself in at a police station in the eastern city of Dresden at 1 a.m., Saxony state police said. “He admitted the act but didn’t go beyond that,” police spokeswoman Silvaine Reiche said. Matthias Ecke, a candidate for the Social Democrats in the June 9 election, was attacked by four people while putting up posters in Dresden on Friday evening.

University of Michigan students stage protests amid graduation weekend
Students at the University of Michigan staged multiple protests throughout campus this weekend. For nearly two weeks, students have been camping out at the University's Diag calling on the university to divest. Students say a portion of the university's endowment goes to companies that are profiting from the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. However, the university has repeatedly denied any direct investment into the war.
