Forward Leon Powe(notes) was released by the Cleveland Cavaliers after averaging 5.0 points, 2.7 rebounds 0.2 blocks per game. The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that Powe visited Memphis on Wednesday and could be close to signing with the Grizzlies for the rest of the season, the paper reports.
The 6-8 forward had a meeting with GM Chris Wallace, the paper notes. His agent, Aaron Goodwin, told the Commercial Appeal that Powe "liked" Memphis and would make his decision soon.
"He knows that he can come in and play the style they want to play," Goodwin said. "He looked at the situation. The reason he moved on going there [to visit] before anywhere else was because of Chris. He feels good about it."
