Your turn, LeBron

It's never a comforting feeling for the Knicks to see King James walking onto the court at Madison Square Garden. But that might be especially true Wednesday night, only two days after Kobe Bryant set the Garden scoring record with an electrifying 61-point performance.

"Kobe Bryant's performance was unbelievable. I watched every last second of it and he won the game," James said Wednesday night after the Cavs defeated the Raptors, 101-83, for their 23rd straight home win. "But it's not about individuals in this league — it's about the basketball game. I'm not trying to out-do Kobe or anybody on their team. I'm just trying to win the game."

James warmed up for what is his last trip of the regular season to New York with a 33-point effort. But as for trying to top Bryant, he stressed once again that it's not his style.

"I just go out and play my game," he said. "I'm not a video game where you can expect me to go out there and score 60 or 70. I play the game and I'm not about individual accolades."

Still, James is quite capable of putting on the kind of show the Garden fans saw from Bryant, on a night when he broke Michael Jordan's record for opponents (55) and Bernard King's overall Garden record (60).

"We set the bar up high for him," Mike D'Antoni joked after practice yesterday at Greenburgh. "He's got to play really well."

Jordan's game was light year better than Kobe's. I know Kobe got more points, but Jordan played a Knicks team that actually played D. THe Knicks D was like the Celtics or Cavs was nowadays. So if you ever see Kobe score 61 against those 2 teams then his 61 may hold some weight.
These Knicks are as bad as the GS Warriors at defense, they dont do anything. Lebron wont score 61. He might get 50 tho.

Yeah, I'm sure Lebron is chomping at the bit to leave a championship caliber team and join the Knicks in 2 years.

Why are u guys placing sooo much emphasis on 2010 when Lebrone gets to Knicks, its not even a given he's still gonna be playing by then ... what matters is NOW, and thats it. Quit putting too much unnecessary pressure on the kid and let him play his game.

of course lebron can't duplicate or surpass what kobe done, he is not a good FT shooter & jumpshot shooter. maybe 50points but 60 is another rough road to go.

Lebron was always more team oriented than Kobe. Kobe was always more interested in showing his skills. I remember when he first came in the league and LA was losing to Chicago. Kobe went off against Jordon and scored mucho points. He team still lost big, but he showed his skills.

I think Phil Jackson said it best when asked who was better, Jordan or Kobe (2008).

Sheez man this is a Lebron blog and people still talking about Kobe and hating on him. Im a Kobe fan but dam stick to Lebron. James is a strong as player but streaky shooter. That guy knows how to get inside and finish. When its all said an done if Lebron doesn't not get seriously injured and plays out a Long career I believe he will be top 5 scorer of all time.....so will Kobe :) This is what i think Kareen, Karl malone, Kobe, MJ, and Lebron

Lebron watching kobe play, maybe he's taking notes on how kobe dribbles without Traveling to score hah! jk's NIce to see Lebron give kobe that compliment "he's Unbelievable" cause Lebron just compared kobe to a game hahaha "Im not a video game where you can expect me to score 60 to 70." Lebron should have added "im not but Kobe is hahahaha!"
