Lakers' Fisher has torn tendon in foot

Derek Fisher has a partially torn tendon in his right foot, an injury that typically requires six to eight weeks of rest, although the Los Angeles Lakers point guard will try to play through it according to the Los Angeles Times.

An MRI exam Friday confirmed that Fisher injured his peroneus longus tendon after pushing off the foot while changing direction in Wednesday's game against Charlotte.

"I feel good enough to see if I can help the team," Fisher said. "That's basically what the decision is going to be based on, is how I feel out there and whether I can really be effective enough to be a positive influence on helping us win games. If at any point I start to feel like I can't do that, then I'll make a decision at that point."

Ehh That's okay, Jordan Farmer will lead this team, Anytime now Bynum and Gasol will return, and when they do they will over power the west.

great steak it was, but the rockets have benn about 500 for the entire rest of the year,,,,any comment about their "non streak" record. That streak was awesomw...it will give you something to talk about when your pne and done in the playoffs,

11 Cmon now, I'm not disregarding it, but I am looking at the WHOLE season. If you did that you would know that THREE of your losses this year came from the GRIZZLIES, so I miss your point.
The rockets have a good recors against losing teams (besides Grizz) but lose a lot of games against the top.
Sometimes the Lakers lack focus (last 2 games) but they ususlly beat the better teams which helps in the playoffs, i think.

I'm not worried...D fish is my boy and hopefully will return by playoffs or hopefully during it...If not i know gasol and bynum and ariza will come back during the 1st round...and most importantly we got farmar who could be just as good as fisher, or even better if he wants too...despite of all these injuries, and despite of any seed they will be entering the playoffs..theres no team in the west that can beat them in a 7 game series..no team is big enough...NBA finals...LAKERS vs CELTICS...now tell me if i'm worng..i dont think so.......oh yea i almost forgot...............# 11..........heat is the worst team in the nba, not memphis..get ur standings right...

The Lakers just beat a couple of teams with great western records without Gasol. Now to lose a couple shows how they are hurting when their shot isn't falling. This is what happens to perimeter shooting teams. I'm glad we aren't this way when healthy/

Lets get to the bottom line here. The top 6 teams in the west are basically all locked in to the playoffs.
The only ones who need to worry are the Mavs, Warriors, and Nuggets. One of the will be on the outside looking in.

I think they should rest him now! at least 2 weeks
time for Farmar to step up. I dont care how the Lakers finish in the standings as long as they remain in the top 6.
Most Nba teams would miss instantly the playoff if they had three 7 footers injured in the last 3 months of regular season. it just shows how much potential this team has. And if everybody but Bryant was 100%, that is including Gasol , I would still see them reaching the conference finals. no I havent smoked anything.

why do all you Laker haters get on this site if you hate them so much you must really worry about this team because you know their time is coming. plus as many games as I see KOBE is the only person I see that can not even get a call at home thats why he get upset just look around the league at top players and see if you can see that . and whoever said san antonio vs boston in finals is stupid we have been there with san antonio and nba has seen the worst rating ever for a game besides boston would sweep in 4. And yes KOBE does deserve MVP he is long overdue that award best player in the league everybody says it
