Gordon endured bone spurs in his left ankle after the All-Star break, which required surgery last week to alleviate the pain, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Recommendation: The intention of the surgery so soon after the regular season is to ensure Gordon is fully healthy heading into the 2013-14 season. Considering the injury-plagued campaign he just experienced, it is no surprise that he would like to avoid even the minor limitations that characterized this season, namely sitting out one game of back-to-back sets. The aforementioned restriction was finally lifted the final week of 2012-13, but Gordon will look to avoid any ailments for the first time since he was rookie.
