West was indicted Tuesday on eight charges stemming from his arrest in September, the Associated Press reports. Recommendation: West could eventually face a league suspension over his charges, but nothing appears imminent. Cavs and NBA officials haven't commented on the incident and will likely wait for the legal process to finish before handing out any further punishments to West. An arrangement is expected by the end of the week and the case could go to trial early next year. |

G Delonte West was activated on Saturday, and responded with 13 points in the Cavaliers' decision over the Charlotte Bobcats at Quicken Loans Arena.
West, 26, missed the entire preseason and the first three regular-season games. He's been battling a bipolar disorder and is also facing gun possession charges in Maryland.
The Cavs' "support team" made the call as to when the 6-foot-3, 180-pound West would be activated.
West added two assists and two rebounds in his 24-minute stretch.
"Delonte is one of those guys who can sit out for two weeks and he comes back in and he's back in the flow," Cavs forward LeBron James said. "He's just one of those guys."
West ignited a 21-5 run by the Cavs in the third quarter when they outscored the Bobcats, 21-13, and blew the game open.
"He can play," coach Mike Brown said. "He's a guy who can carry a team by himself. He can score, run the team and distribute the ball.
"We were starting to struggle a bit to score. He kind of took over." |
