F Matt Bonner hasn't been his same accurate self from beyond the 3-point arc since his return and he knows it. He was hoping that removing the awkward brace he was wearing on his right hand would help. But even that hasn't fixed his errant shot since returning from a broken bone in his right hand. The Spurs' most accurate 3-point shooter before the injury at 40.6 percent, Bonner entered Wednesday's game at Sacramento having made just 2-of-15 in six games.
"I've only had one injury in my basketball career up to this point," Bonner said. "Coming back from injury isn't something I'm used to. In my head, I'm back, I'm canning 3s, but that's just not reality. As frustrating as it is, I have to be patient."
His poor shooting is resulting in reduced time since coming back. He played just 6:59 at Sacramento and missed his only two shot attempts, both 3-pointers. |
