Former Minnesota Timberwolves great Kevin Garnett had high praise for the team's new star Anthony Edwards. On The Stephen A. Smith Show on Monday, Garnett complimented Edwards' confidence and how he has risen to the occasion in the playoffs thus far. "I feel like he's been the alpha of every series that he's been in," Garnett said (46:00 mark). Man, I haven't seen a kid with this much confidence since LeBron [James}, [Dwyane Wade], [Carmelo Anthony].
Miami Heat great Dwyane Wade always took center stage during his playing days. Wade is the headliner for this year's NBA Finals preview commercial called "The Toast." NBA greats Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas, who were closely linked during the 1980s when they were rivals for the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons, also make cameos.
At the time, Shaquille O'Neal was on the downside of his career. It's why O'Neal turned to having a conversation with youngster Dwyane Wade, in just his third season, after losing the first two games to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 NBA Finals. "And that's why in the Finals, when went down 0-2, we had a respectful conversation," O'Neal said during JJ Redick's "Old Man and the Three" podcast . O'Neal opened up about how he was playing poorly while going through personal problems at home.
