G Manu Ginobili does not appear to have the same spring in his step Spurs fans are used to. He's acknowledged that he entered the season not in top-notch basketball conditioning. Not helping things is the battery of rabies vaccine shots Ginobili has had over recent days after he swatted a bat flying in the AT&T Center with bare hand and then cupped it in his hands to remove it from the court. The needle-pocked Ginobili did not have a good road trip, hitting just 7-of-22 from the field combined in Thursday's loss at Utah and Friday's loss at Portland. |

Ginobili has decided to stay away from bats in the future. The Spurs star says on his Facebook page that he had to be vaccinated for rabies after catching a bat and removing it from the court during a victory over Sacramento on Halloween. Advice: Ginobili posted Monday that he doesn't know if the bat had rabies but he had to get vaccinated to make sure he was safe. He also encouraged people to "avoid contact with bats, skunks, raccoons, rats and animals like that." The bat swooped into the AT&T Center on Saturday night and descended onto the court late in the first period. The bat circled and left only to return - briefly. |

Ginobili scored 13 points (5-for-7 FG, 3-for-4 FT) with three assists, a board and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench Saturday night. Recommendation: Numbers aside, Ginobili produced the most memorable moment of the night when he snatched a bat out of the air with his bare hands in the first quarter. The bat had flown onto the court and caused the players to scatter until Ginobili performed his trick, earning him a big ovation from the crowd, his teammates and even his opponents on Halloween Night. |
