New York Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson has garnered well-deserved praise within the basketball world for his Herculean efforts the last few games. After Thursday night's 118-115 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, Brunson became the first player since Michael Jordan to score at least 37 points in four straight playoff games. Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle sang the former Maverick's praises ahead of his club's second-round matchup against the Knicks, via The Dan Patrick Show. “He's forged out a niche in the NBA, both in league history and in Knick history,” Carlisle said.
The Nets haven't officially announced Jordi Fernandez as their new head coach, but his staff is already starting to come together. Brooklyn is adding veteran coach Steve Hetzel as an assistant under Fernandez, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Hetzel boasts a decade of experience as an NBA assistant, including the past three years on Chauncey Billups' staff in Portland.
Charlotte is casting a wide net looking for a replacement for Steve Clifford.
