• Sweet thank you card from ball girl to tennis pro Jo-Wilfried Tsonga goes viral

There isn't always room for niceties in the world of professional sport, but French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has bucked the trend. You might remember him helping out a ball girl who was in tears after being struck by a ball at last year's Australian Open, stopping the match to accompany her off the court. SEE ALSO: Tennis pros: Don't hit ball kids 'cos your hopes and dreams will be dashed Here's a video of the moment to help jog your memory. Well, twelve months on, the ball girl — real name Giuliana — penned a thank you card to the Frenchman, which he shared on Facebook while back in Melbourne for the tennis tournament. "Dear Mr Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for helping me out on court during your round 2 match of the Australian Open 2016," the letter reads. "I'm not sure if you remember me but I was the ball girl you escorted off court. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for all the times when you asked for the ball but I didn't service it to you or acknowledge you." The card revealed Giuliana had a virus on the day that also affected her hearing and vision, hence inhibiting her performance on the court. The expectations for these ball kids are understandably set quite high. "Thank you so much for the kindness you showed me. I really appreciate that you were able to see that I needed some help and were kind enough to escort me off court," Giuliana added. She signed off the card with her name and her ball kid number, #180. At the time, Tsonga told reporters that he "didn't do anything special" by helping her off the court, but he did thank Giuliana for her letter Sunday. What a guy, hey. • Tom Brady's massive coat stole the show during the AFC championship game

#Deflategate has a new clothing line.  New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is known for a lot of things: his killer throwing arm, his four Super Bowl wins and, of course, deflategate. But, after last night's AFC championship game, Brady is now known as the internet's favorite meme thanks to his bench-sitting fashion statement. • Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney outlines possible timeline over China move

Manchester United's highest ever goalscorer Wayne Rooney has made no guarantee over his future at Old Trafford, but has scorched suggestions he could leave the club for China at the end of the season. Reports before Christmas linked the England captain with a move to Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao or Beijing Guoan in the summer, after the 31-year-old had become a bit-part player under Jose Mourinho. Rooney lost his place in the first team just five weeks into Mourinho's tenure at the club and has started just eight times in the Premier League this season.

  • Tennis pros: Don't hit ball kids 'cos your hopes and dreams will be dashed

Showing frustration on the court is pretty standard for tennis players, but it ended badly for 17-year-old Italian player Maria Vittoria Viviani. Viviani was disqualified from the junior girls tournament at the Australian Open after she hit a ball kid with a ball in frustration on Sunday. SEE ALSO: You're breaking my balls: Tennis pro smashes rival in the groin during match Viviani had just lost a point from an unforced error against her Chinese opponent Xin Yu Wang in the first set. Annoyed, she hit a ball away with her racquet toward the side of the court. That ball then hit a ball kid in the chest, but the force was minimal, according to Italian news outlet Il Sussadario . It's not clear how they judged that, but it is true that Viviani appears to tap the ball away rather than thwack it with critical force. Viviani can be seen trying to apologise quickly afterwards, but it was enough to send her packing from the court in tears. The match ended 6-2 to Wang. It's not the first time that a ball hitting someone else on the court has ended in a player being disqualified.  English player Tim Henman was given his marching orders during a doubles match at Wimbledon in 1995 when he hit a ball away following the loss of a point and hit a ball girl in the face. • Patriots Fans Have A Long-Standing Tradition Of Pulling The Fire Alarm On Opponents

The Patriots are notorious by now around the NFL and its fans for their history of using shady (and at times illegal) tactics to gain a competitive edge over their opponents. The night before their AFC Championship game against the Steelers, there were shenanigans that had nothing to do with the team itself when a Patriots fan pulled the fire alarm at Pittsburgh’s team hotel in the middle of the night. A 25-year-old man from East Boston was arrested for the stunt, and of course has no affiliation with the Patriots organization.
