Nationals place Gallo (shoulder) on 10-day IL

The Washington Nationals placed first baseman Joey Gallo on the 10-day injured list with a shoulder sprain in advance of their road game Saturday against the Miami Marlins. The Nationals called up outfielder Alex Call from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move. Gallo, in his first season with the Nationals, is batting .122 with a .311 slugging percentage and leads the major leagues with 43 strikeouts. The 30-year-old has three home runs with five RBIs in 23 games.
